A Moment's Infinity

And you think I've been unproductive all these months? I won't say this is a masterpiece, but - here it is nonetheless =)

Since forever composes of ‘nows’
Won’t you hold my hand a little longer?
So I may lead you through – no, not another reminiscence.
But memories that are present in our existence.
Show you a bit of what was, and what we thought would be.

No it is not a complaint, nor a wish for things to be that way,
Just a moment to sigh and a second to say –
Caricatures of shadows interweaving, playing with;
The rays of sun, that fell between the pillars.
Echoes of laughter, etched in the winds of time.
So it carries it wherever it goes.
That time, it felt like – that was the place to be.
One day we’d be there
And we talked about the present, the recent trifles past.
Laughed, looked up at the sky in anticipation,
But hands held hope. So we smiled.
Take a puff and watch the smoke drift into the sultry air,
Tilt your head to be blinded by the white light
That paves the way onto that corrider, seeps in,
Quite to the annoyance of the dusty rooms.
With the peal of the black and white keys as its companion.

Stand in the sun, and watch the myriad in front of you.
But you know you want it most.
You know what is there, and what it takes.

That laughter rings in you ears.
Take away bread, but not that laughter
From me.
One day we shall be there.

But the notes hit a dischord,
Minor harmony. The ashes fall to your feet,
To scathe, as the butt too has reached its end.
And scalds your fingers.
Gravity can’t forget, to pull me to the ground again.
Only too quickly, the rain pours,
As you exit in fours.
