Ah, the simple joys of music. Actually, they're not that simple. There are different kinds of joys (is that possible?) it gives, at least to me. What would I not do to get my hands on those two instruments! It really takes me back to school days when I used to play. Be it as part of the orchestra, or solo. Hours and hours of practice. Concerts, tears, fears, quest to perfection, shelves filled with Mozart, Beethoven, Greig, Tchaikovsky, theory exams! Ah! Ten whole years of this! And now, I don't even get to see it, forget play it. One of lasting memories was on the night of my last concert- I was playing particularly technically-challenging piece. It was Debussy. And it had not been perfected, no I'm not just saying this like all pre-concert performers, this one had been especially tricky. The dynamics were the most important thing, and there were constant extremes. But but but! After it was all over, my piano teacher of two years (who has been an inspiration since then!) told me, that during some parts of the piece, I reminded him of himself when he played! It still makes me grin ear to ear when I recall. Here's a picture of that last night!
